After Danny Simpson walked through the exit door, Leicester were always going to need to find a new right-back.
Daniel Amartey was an able deputy to Ricardo Pereira when necessary but his horrendous broken ankle left him facing a considerable period out.
Therefore, the potential acquisition of Luton’s James Justin this summer makes perfect sense.
According to The Telegraph, Leicester look set to conclude a £6m deal, which could rise to £10m-plus after add-ons.
But what could this signing mean for one particular member of the Leicester team?

One aspect of Justin’s game that really stands out is his versatility. For Luton last season he played most of his games at left-back, but he’s featured at right-back too – an area of the pitch that he’ll likely be afforded minutes in for Leicester.
The Foxes already have Ben Chilwell and Christan Fuchs on the left side so it seems unlikely that he’d play there.
The 6 ft tall Justin was hugely impressive for the Hatters last term, playing 52 times across all competitions despite being only 21.
However, his potential arrival could mean a new role permanent role for Pereira further up the field.
On seven occasions last term, Pereira featured as a right winger, helping to add extra pace and creativity to the final third. It was from further forward where he scored one of his two goals in 2018/19 too.
Considering Leicester’s problematic area on the right-hand side, he could be the ideal solution for Brendan Rodgers.
Last term, Rachid Ghezzal, Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton only scored seven goals between them. Considering they were used to having someone like Riyad Mahrez in that area of the pitch, it was a stark contrast.

Pereira may not be the calmest in front of goal but he’s certainly a more exciting proposition than the aforementioned names for a spot on the right wing.
By bringing Justin in to play as a right back, it could be hugely beneficial for not just the team, but also for their star Portuguese full-back.
Throughout the last Premier League campaign, the 25-year-old boasted the joint highest number of dribbles in the Foxes side per match at 1.9, and was also fouled 1.4 times per game – a tally that puts him second on Leicester’s list for that specific statistic.
Bearing that in mind, he’d be more than capable of making a permanent step forward if Leicester do complete a deal for Justin.
