Newcastle United made it back-to-back away wins in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory away to Stoke City on New Year’s Day.
Ayoze Perez that scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute, but it was Jacob Murphy that provided the assist with a brilliant cross.
It would be fair to say that it has taken the 22-year-old time to settle following his summer move from Championship side Norwich City, but he has impressed in recent weeks.
Murphy, who is valued at £6.3m by transfermarkt.co.uk, took to Twitter on Monday to reveal his delight at playing a key role in Newcastle picking up a massive three points away to one of their main relegation rivals, which piled the pressure on Potters boss Mark Hughes.
The club’s fans were on hand to pay tribute to the former England Under-21 international, who looks every inch a top-flight player.
