Ruben Amorim has had a tough start to life at United and the Portuguese boss is now facing another setback with compatriot Nuno Mendes set to snub a move to Old Trafford. The wing-back had been at the top of the head coach's wishlist for either a January or summer move, but reports claim Mendes is keen to remain in France and sign a new contract with PSG.

Wing-backs are essential in the ex-Sporting man's formation and Mendes has impressed during his time in Paris. Despite the Red Devils being set to miss out on the 22-year-old, there is some hope that Luke Shaw – poised to return from injury – can add a new dynamic to United on his return until reinforcements can be added.
