Juventus draw 1-1 with GenoaChiesa and Gudmundsson scoreUSMNT star McKennie impresses GettyWHAT HAPPENED?
Federico Chiesa's first-half penalty gave the Old Lady the lead in the 28th minute but the hosts deservedly drew level three minutes into the second half through Albert Gudmundsson. Alberto Gilardino's team arguably had the better chances but didn't test goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny enough at Luigi Ferraris Stadium. The result means Juve are second in the table, one point behind leaders Inter, who travel to Lazio on Sunday.

Juventus had the chance to leapfrog table topping Inter for more than 24 hours but they weren't good enough to get the three points at Genoa. The relegation contenders beat Roma and drew with Napoli earlier this season at home, showing they are a tougher nut to crack in their own back yard but Juventus didn't create enough chances to claim the victory. They are still right on Inter's coattails but this was an opportunity missed.

Not many Juve players can hold their head high after that performance but USMNT star McKennie can. He ran his socks off for his team, showed total commitment right to the end, and did his defensive duties well. While he did not create much, it is quite a turnaround for the 25-year-old who looked like he would leave the club for good in the summer.
Substitute Timothy Weah had a quiet game when he came on in the 68th minute. The right winger was largely kept quiet when he was introduced into the fray and he is still seeking his first goal for his new club.
GettyGOAL'S RATINGS
Weston McKennie (7/10):
You couldn't fault his efforts as he covered virtually every blade of grass against Genoa. May need to show a bit more quality on top of his huff and puff.
Timothy Weah (5/10):
Fairly ineffective when he came on and gave the ball away a couple of times. Unlikely to start next weekend.
