Leeds United face Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday evening, and while a game against Arsenal would usually represent a huge chance for the Whites to pick up a historic result, it seems as if they’re not prioritising this match.
Indeed, it’s already been confirmed that Leeds will be playing a slightly rotated squad with Marcelo Bielsa telling the press that both lllan Meslier and Robbie Gotts would be making their debuts at the Emirates.

Of course, due to United having quite a small squad and the team being hampered with injuries, this rotated side will more than likely still feature a number of first-teamers.
Coming off the back of the incredibly busy festive period Leeds’ players could probably do with a rest, but some of them will have to play in this one.
Fortunately, there’s a bit of respite coming up for the Whites due to the fact that their fixture list doesn’t look anywhere near as daunting as it has in recent times. Bielsa’s men will be back to a more regular schedule of only playing on weekends for the next five weeks.
However, that could all change if they draw with the Gunners at the Emirates.
Of course, a draw would force a replay between the two sides at Elland Road, and that would likely be played next week alongside the other scheduled replays.
With Bielsa’s team having a tendency to burn out in the latter half of the season alongside comments from his former players stating that his training regimes make it nigh on impossible for sides to keep up their standards, they will need all the rest they can get during this portion of the season.
Therefore, Leeds need to go for it by playing open and expansive football even if it means leaving gaps at the back. A draw would potentially be worse than a loss in this situation because United’s priority has to be promotion from the Championship, not the FA Cup.
In other news, Marcelo Bielsa’s recent revelation may mean that Leeds may have a way around FFP.
