The evergreen frontman, who has five Ballons d’Or to his name, hit a world-leading 54 efforts for club and country in 2023. He has celebrated his 39th birthday since then, but is showing no sign of slowing down in the final third.

Ronaldo was back among the goals in Al-Nassr’s narrow 1-0 win over Al Feiha in the first leg of their AFC Champions League last-16 encounter and has already registered 20 efforts in the Saudi Pro League this season.

The all-time great has passed 1,000 games at club level, with 746 goals recorded along the way. He has also found the target on a record-setting 128 occasions through 205 appearances for Portugal. After hitting the net again, and breaking out a new celebration, Ronaldo has posted on social media: “Who’s counting?”
WHAT NEXT FOR RONALDO?
There is seemingly no end in sight for Ronaldo, as he intends to play on into his 40s and is yet to bow out at international level. It would appear, then, to be only a matter of time before he reaches the fabled 1,000-goal mark and adds another entry to the history books.
