The Bundesliga leaders did not take long to stamp their authority on the match with Sane finding the net inside six minutes. He was one of the most influential players in the match as he gave the Hoffenheim defenders a tough time with his dribbling and probing runs in the final third. Bayern doubled the lead in the 12th minute through Raphael Guerreiro as he broke the lines, thanks to a sensational give-and-go with Kane. After assisting the left-back, Kane got his name on the scoresheet from the spot, converting his 27th consecutive penalty for both club and country.
Bayern continued their onslaught in the second period and within three minutes of restart they got their fourth, with Sane scoring for the second time. The German forward calmly directed Mathys Tel's cross into the net with a neatly placed finish, giving Oliver Baumann little chance.
With his side 4-0 up, Vincent Kompany chose to rest a couple of regulars as he replaced Kane and Dayot Upamecano with Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry on the hour mark. The forward made an instant impact upon his introduction as he scored the fifth to complete the rout.

Sane stole the limelight with his brace and a flawless performance. He is gradually reviving his best form and has now five goals in the last five league appearances. Kompany will be a relieved man.
THE BIG LOSER
The Austrian coach of Hoffenheim, Christian Ilzer, must shoulder the blame for a toothless performance. Bayern were all over them in the first 15 minutes and scored twice in that period. However, they did take their foot off the pedal for a brief period and yet the visitors showed no urgency to claw their way back into the game. They are in the 16th spot, just three points above the relegation zone, and their -14 goal difference is another massive reason of concern.
