Sheffield United clashed with Red DragonsBlades striker caused the most fussHollywood superstars responded to anticsWHAT HAPPENED?
The veteran striker lined up against the Red Dragons for Sheffield United in 2022-23. Their paths crossed in the FA Cup fourth round, with the Blades eventually prevailing at the end of a dramatic replay at Bramall Lane. Sharp clashed with Wrexham coaches and players that day, with his antics after leaving the field seeing him become an inadvertent star of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ series.

Explaining how that happened, with emotions running high, Sharp has told : “I got Man of the Match. I had to go straight on and right to this room. There were loads of cameras for the documentary. So I’m trying to go straight on and up the stairs, it gets tighter. The Wrexham players think ‘what’s he doing, he should be going left’. I get that. This camera guy shoots out, probably didn’t think I was coming because he thought I was going left as well. I nearly fall over him and push him out the way. The Wrexham lads kicked off a little bit.
"There were too many people there and nobody knew what was going on. Robbo [Jack Robinson] has come in, a few other people. There’s shouting, handbags, nothing really happened. I said it would probably make good TV and they put it in the documentary. I said ‘stick that up your documentary’s arse’, or something like that, and I had a laugh as I said it. A few more are having a go. I darted in my little place where I had this interview. I probably shouldn’t have done it, I should have calmed down as emotions are high and things were just being said.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham did include the incident in their documentary, with Reynolds and McElhenney making a point of firing back at Sharp. They claimed to be “living rent free in that motherf*cker's brain” after reliving the events of an eventful contest in South Yorkshire.

Sharp has since claimed that most of what happened could be written off as “banter” which got out of hand, and he has not ruled out linking up with Reynolds and McElhenney at SToK Racecourse after becoming a free agent at 37 years of age.
